The lovely team at Jadu Tea contacted me asking if I’d like to sample some of their teas. Having stopped drinking milk in the new year, my tea consumption has gone from about 7 cups of tea a day to zero – I just don’t ‘do’ black English breakfast tea. I do, however, like to try new things and the amount of coffee I drink in a day should probably be taken down a notch…
I was sent a lovely package containing a box of Mademosielle Grey, a pouch of White Mango Lime, and a couple of individual green teas and English breakfast. I gave away the English breakfast teas to a friend, who thought they were ‘well posh’, so a happy chappy there.
I have to say, I had high hopes for the Mango Lime tea, what with some of the ingredients being lime leaves, papaya pieces and pineapple pieces, but the flavour I got was a bitter, floral one – not what I thought at all. Safe to say, it…(wait for it)… WASN’T MY CUP OF TEA!
Ahem, anyway, the china green tea was more palatable and a taste that I recognised – I added a squeeze of lemon to give it a bit of flavour and then it was just right. Next was the Mademoiselle Grey , which I really enjoyed but found it was definitely tastier when cool – what can I say, I guess I’m a coffee girl at heart. I’m slowly crossing over to the Land of tea, and Jadu definitely gave me a great sampler to get into the big wide world of it.
Have a look at their website and see if there’s anything that takes your fancy – they have some really interesting flavours, I think I’ll have to try the Woodland Fruit blend next, mmmm!
