Get into the swing of things

I clearly didn’t think I was trying enough new things, what with scuba diving club and snowboarding lessons, so  I recently started going to a lindyhop dance class on a Monday evening.

After the first class, I felt exhilarated and couldn’t wait to get back on the dancefloor and improve my moves the following week. It’s a really social event, you can go with friends or partners but during the class you rotate partners, so you get a chance to socialise with everyone and get chatting. Some of the dancers are old hands, for some it’s their first time but every has fun, that’s for sure.

At the end of the class, the teachers invite anyone that would like to to perform the moves one last time for a video which they post on their website, as a kind of tutorial.

It’s a complete laugh, you step on people’s toes, you have a chat but the best thing about it is you do it all with a smile on your face and you have fun!
Check them out, and get your dancing shoes on! They have classes all over London, so find your nearest and maybe I’ll see you there! 🙂
